Need a little help, server stuck on creating

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to go play on our server but it's stuck on 'creating'. I can go in the lobby but no futher than that. From the lobby i tried login in as an admin and did the restart and shutdown command but when the server restarts it still goes no futher than 'creating'. Any help would be apreciated.

No, actually. Having this exact same problem now.

Simply restarted the server to fix the time, logged in and ran around for a minute, realized it was dark and restarted again. BAM server goes bad.

If you can read your server config, check that the mission has a complete entry.

Should look like this:

class Missions
{
class DayZ {
template = "dayz_1234.Chernarus"; //DO NOT EDIT THIS LINE.
difficulty = "Veteran";
};
};

Except the 1234 will be different, obviously.

As said above, you can always contact your GSP.

May I ask how you got to this? I don't know if I'm going to the right file for config (going to Bliss\server.cfg) but the only way I can edit that is just changing simple things like MOTD, Admin Password, Difficulty, etc.

Get can get the file via FTP or if you have a file manager in your control panel.

You should be able to download it (to check if that's the problem at least) but uploading and overwriting will probably be disabled, although you're a private server.

Currently don't have the option to download the Bliss\server.cfg, is it a different file? I have the ability to edit files from the webpage that controls the server I believe.

Without knowing you're setup, that's most likely the file.

Are you running through a GSP or are you self hosting this?

Through a GSP (running through a host), I have a line similar to the one you posted "DO NOT EDIT THIS LINE" and it has my server's ID and what not, but there's nothing else I can really do.

Don't know what necessarily caused this problem. Was playing with some friends last night, and it was way too dark. We restarted the server, and let it get running again. After a few minutes we finally logged in to see it was still dark, so we changed the GMT time and restarted once more. We changed the time to GMT+2 on the server hoster tools (it was GMT-9 before). We are also using DayZTools, and the time on that website was GMT+2, which was odd seeing as it didn't mess up the server's time. I'm not sure if simply changing these options or restarting too quickly is the source of the problem, but I don't have much access to the Bliss\server.cfg

TBH mate youre better off contacting your GSP for this, its a server issue, not a DayZ issue. It's likely to be something simple, like a fullstop instead of a comma, or something else, but your GSP will fix this for you.

Just got a reply from my GSP, seems they're working on the problem and have no idea how to fix it at the moment. Great news _._
