dudditz 0 Posted September 3, 2012 Hi,i'm running a server at a german hoster. Everything runs fine but i don't want to use the webpanel to configurate the configs of my server. The hoster has an option in the panel where i can switch between webpanel and ftp configuration but the ftp configuration doesn't work.I had written a ticket to my hoster and the answer wasn't that what i expected. My hoster stated that the dev-team wouldn't allow the access to server files at the moment. I can't imagine that this is true, because of root server users would not be able to edit their configs, without editing the server files. Additionally there is a Server Side Fix for tents which are not saved to the hive, on reddit.My question now: Is my hoster right or is it just another silly excuse for something that is not working (hosterside)? Paddy0610 278 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) If they use Pre Whitlisted server you can only edit a few things becouse thats the rule for pre whitelsiting. But i would ask the hoster to get your own id and full ftp control. We have done the same thing with our hoster. And now got an own ID and can edit the server advanced.Is yours pre whitelistet? Paddy0610 278 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) Also wenn du dir deine eigene ID (neue id) holst dauert es ein paar tage bis der gewhitlistet wurde dann darfst du aber alles verändern wie du lustig bist. Frag einfach mal bei deinem Hoster an. bin bei PGS da hat alles einwandfrei geklappt.Beim Pre whitlisting müssen die ne bestimmte struktur voreinstellen und beibehalten was joining rules etc angeht. daher darfste da nur bedingt einstellungen vornehmen und deshalb können die einem keinen vollen FTp zugriff erlauben dann würde das pre whitlisting erlöschen.
