Zombies dead

I went into a server by a barn, and I saw a dead zed(hey that rhymed!) on the floor. Does that mean some one was in it very recently, or do dead zombies stay there for long periods of time. Also, I threw a chemlight and waited for some one to come out. No one did

Zeds tend to stay for a few minutes. I would say less than ten, but I've never timed it, since i either hide my corpses, or don't stick around to find out how long they last.

yeah, don't know how many minutes they last but in general the killer was close..since not everyone camps small sites for a long time, and considered that they have a 360° possible directions to go away it's hard to find someone like that. you can guess where they are going to go (bigger villages, military, deer stands..) or try to spot the infected of nearest places if you can see there..
