"Hive" Database corrupt?

Recommended Posts

"The DayZ 'team' has what's called a 'Hive.' Think of this as a central database where everyone's character data is stored.. that is, your coordinates, your inventory, stats, everything."

If this is true then why after I logged out last night with a pack full of gear and equipment in the woods up North, logged back in today and was on the beach with nothing, no backpack, no gear...nothing? I tried several servers including the one I log from last night and the same thing on every server. I did run into a situation a while back where I had nothing but logged back into another server and everything I worked for showed back up. This is a great game concept and worth its weight in gold but I think we've passed the point of frustration and gone right into ridiculous. I don't wanna hear its another glitch, glitched don't happen randomly...do they?

I read every post I could find but nothing seem to deal with this exact situation. It seems to me that it would be cut and dry that your data is saved upon leaving the game and when you return it should be still intact, even if your server hop or log on and off a few dozen times on the same server, a save is a save.

Not giving up on this mod but I am hoping for some exexplanation

Your specs are no good to us, like you said, it's a hive problem.

Obviously something causes glitches/bugs, they are not completely random, but then nothing really is.

It's a massive system, full of glitches and bugs, and problems occur frequently, not sure what you want people to tell you.

If you don't want to hear that it's a bug/glitch, then I have no answer for you :)

Well I posted my specs to share input and data since thats what these forums are mainly for aren't they? Not really to complain but to put across issues so that the developers can look into it and because somewhere in this forum in a sticky it said I should. Also I was looking for an answer and I guess I got one, maybe not what I wanted to hear but at least this thread wasn't flooded with "Hey, I have that crap happen to me as well" so thats a good sign. Now I realize that yes it must have been a "glitch" and I was just the lucky one to get it.

I am pretty new to this mod so I can't say that I was playing on a private server or not, unless most of the ones that come up in DayZ Commander are private then I guess I got what I paid for.

Appreciate the quick response - Happy hunting.
