Petrollium 19 Posted September 2, 2012 Just recently i grew big enough cojones to decide to star heading into chernogorsk with or without weapons. This place is huge with a lot of distance between the loot spawns. Do you guys RUN sprint to each place and hope to lose the zeds after you or... are you like me and take ~2-3 hours crouching the entire city? I want to know because TWICE ive gotten geared up, hard... and died in Cherno. Im sick of taking all this feckin time looting then dying. Is running the way to go? Is running the way to go?I sprint, players aren't stupid like zombies and can spot you even if you aren't moving and are prone. Running fast and making yourself a harder target will increase your life expectancy... Zombies are stupid easy to get off your tail so there really isnt a down side, other than making yourself stick out that much more if you have a bunch of zombies behind you. speca 193 Posted September 2, 2012 I avoid Cherno/Electro unless i'm player hunting in which case i love to go on the sniper hills.Go head up to Stary/NW airfield, it's a great loot route.
IIII_joshua 16 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) If you have anything valuable, don't go to cherno. What could you want out of a bunch of civilian spawns? It's the biggest PvP hotspot on the map.. so you can pretty much expect to die. There is absolutely nothing in that town you can't get easier elsewhere.. except over geared snipers.. Edited September 2, 2012 by IIII_joshua
herrjon 478 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) Crouch run around, stick to walls and general cover, stay off concrete, and keep an eye out for zeds. If you do pull aggro, stand up and run, looking for a two door building (there's TONS of them in Cherno). Run through it and go back to crouch run. If you can't find said building, bank around tight corners and break line of sight as much as possible until you've lost them.If you have anything valuable, don't go to cherno. There is absolutely nothing in that town you can't get easier elsewhere.. except over geared snipers..It's a good quick start if you have nothing to lose, but as far as going back, meds my friend. The only places you can get blood bags is hospitals which are only in Cherno, Elektro, and Berezino. Unless you're near the NE, you'll have to go to Cherno/Elektro for meds. Yes Morphine does spawn in other locations, but I'd rather go for the sure thing. Better to risk you neck once on a med run than be stuck up north crawling around with a broken leg, hoping the next building will have a morphine. G3722 1 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) I run most of the times. Just get through buildings with more than one entrance to LOS zeds, or kill them since they can't really run while they are inside.IMO, crawling in a place as populated as Cherno is usually a bad idea... Just take into consideration that people will probably see the line of zombies behind you and they will know that something's up. Astaa 11 Posted September 2, 2012 sprint everywhere, it is so easy to lose agro that it's pointless to sneak.
Petrollium 19 Posted September 2, 2012 well just had nothing to lose and spawned right outside cherno. sprinted in, got some mid level shit... ended up dying to some asshat with 45 zeds chaging him. I was able to get one shot off of my crossbow and he went down and the zeds swarmed. he ninja logged which is as good as a death for me! my FIRST pvp kill! after... 3 months of day z. Ive seriously given up on people. Ive run into SO many people in day z and have only grouped with... 2 of them? people are SO quick to pulll that trigger it makes me sad. A;though, im a firm believer in our true selves coming out in multiplayer video games.

Alot. Edited September 2, 2012 by Kenvblog
DazTroyer 227 Posted September 2, 2012 I crouch run through the towns, don't agro zeds as they give you away. Listen for gun fire, use that to your advantage, it tells you where the bandit or idiot making a racket is. Stick to cover, keep checking behind you and just hit the major areas, hospital (check behind for a med box if windows aren't broken), flats, church, Red brick buildings, fire station and supermarket. You can get in and out pretty quickly. Also check bodies if it's safe, this can be a big time saver as some poor bugger will have found what your looking for. As for what you can find, meds (leave blood bags if on your own) axe, matches, hunting knife, water bottle and a map plus a bigger back pack. With these your sorted and don't have to go into town again. I find it easier and safer to hit the towns than go up north, you won't ever see who kills you up there. Berezino is good if you wanna trek up there if you spawn on the east coast. Other than that choose a low pop server but where's the fun of that. ;)

It gets worse imo, as you get better at getting supplies, you get more and more lonely as you can't trust anyone. The game starts to lose its shine, the scared to death feelings wilt away and finding loot becomes dull.
