There should be a cap on the amount of zombies that re-spawn

Ello,

Every few days we see a thread on these forums saying "Lets team up and make a safe zone" or "lets go make a survivor colony". While there have been some successful attempts at this (Fort friendly comes to mind) there are also some major problems that make it very difficult. Not just regular banditry/asshatery/infiltration, that's part of the game.

The real problem i see with being able to establish a long-term survivor colony in a real town is zombies and hackers.

"HACKING IS A PROBLEM MUNCYWOLVERINE, WE GET IT, WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER FUCKING THREAD ON THIS"

^ Ok, i'll grant you that, but i'm talking standalone/future patches here. The fact that Zombies respawn almost as soon as you kill them makes creating a survivor colony/fort/safezone impossible.

What i think needs to happen is this:

A. Bump up the number of zombies in a city to something insane like 500+ zombies in one city, and don't have them respawn. Your random noob or un-coordinated derpsquad won't be able to take over the city, but a highly organized clan or something packing a lot of firepower will be able to.

B. Make it so zombies only respawn 4-5 times. This will make it difficult to take over a city, but not impossible.

The only problem with this is that if the server doesn't restart there will eventually be no more zombies in the world. To solve this i propose randomly spawning zombie hordes that wander around the map.

I just imagined running through the forest and seeing a horde of 300 zombies running towards me after reading that last bit.

Reminds me of an indie game, towns.

A random horde of living slimes, or raving hellhounds would spawn every once in a while.

This is a good idea.

Zombies ALWAYS respawn next to me. Instead of "Hordes", there should be "Outbreaks", and zombie groups/squads.

Outbreak: In any MAJOR town, at any time, an outbreak will spawn, and all dead bodies will spawn 50 zombies per body, 100 if it is a human. (Dont ask me why.) Also a base of at least 50 would spawn. This would be in the costal cities, berezino, zeleno, NW airfield, etc.

Zombie pack: 1-5, 6-10 zombies. They spawn randomly inside costal towns, etc., and have the ability to wander about 100 feet from a survivor/city.

Zombie squad: 10-25 zombies. They spawn uncommonly inside the major costal cities, and semi-commonly inside a standard city, like zelenogorsk. They can wander about 250 feet from a city/town, and 300 from a survivor.

Zombie group:25-50, 50-100 zombies

They ONLY spawn during a outbreak, and ONLY in major cities/landmarks. They can wander as far as they want, and dont give a flying fuck.

This is my idea. Also, zombies could spawn alone, and group together to form these groups.

Grouped zombies cant wander 50+ feet away from each other.

Finally, any zombie in a group wont respawn until the WHOLE group is taken out, and will usually respawn in a low-populated area.

Also, zombies could spawn in an area without survivors. This could lead to encountering a large zombie sqad in kamenka, but suck the fuck up and run through that red brick building.

This is my idea. Critisim is encouraged.

I like OP's idea. Both of them. Only problem with the big amount is it will cut down the player-base who have OK PC's.
