I think Players means how many are playing at that moment in time, Unique players is how many individual accounts have been used (One person could have 10accounts, which counts as 10 unique, but he can only log in one at a time, putting 9extra additions.)

Lots of ppl stopped playing/don't play every day, new players joining...

Kids are back in school. Not all of them will be playing everyday.

With all the scripting going on, kids back in school with much less time to play will just elect not to play.

GW2 just came out. I'm sure a fair number of people left to play that.

Lastly, yes, some people have quit playing due to the abundance of scripters.

Kids back in school and GW2 probably account for most of the drop in players in the last 24 hours.

I hear alot of ppl is getting banned for scripting lately, new ppl means hackers buying new keys.
