Obsolescence 129 Posted September 1, 2012 Anyone happen to know which is louder to zeds, players, or both? I know DayZ lists the AS50 as having the same range as the M107 to zeds but I don't think that is true so I was wondering what yall thought. Thanks for the input! Also, I wanted to know about the audible range for players because to me, the AS50 sounds softer than the harsh boom-crack of the 7.62 DMR rounds.
Jvo 18 Posted September 2, 2012 (edited) The AS50 probably sounds softer because most snipers are not going to be nearly as close with it as the DMR, the DMR is supposed to be good for a 800 meter range but the bullets start dropping around 400 meters in turn most players just get closer vs shoot smarter. Since the AS50 has zeroing and up to double the potential range you would be a lot more likely to hear the DMR then the AS50. The audible distance of the as50 and the m107 are the same at least in the case of using m107 ammo. The Audible distance for players is also going to be much larger then the audible distance for zombies. Edited September 2, 2012 by Jvo
rogue246 28 Posted September 2, 2012 Any difference in noise using nato rounds?
Delta Smoke 01 765 Posted September 2, 2012 Depends, on who you refer to listening to the shot. The AS50 shot noise is relatively quiet , but the sound travels a lot further than would appear. The DMR goes BOOM but fades off after around 500 meters. All in all, to zeds as50 is louder. To players DMR is louder,
