punisher_1 3 Posted June 11, 2012 Ever notice most of the servers are different? - Different version of the game- Different version of Arma 2 BETA versions- Locked severs- Severs with no zombies and no loot - Servers with no zombies and some loot- Severs with text, say version 1.7 but use 1.6 you don't know until you log in.- Servers that you can never connect to.- Severs you load into and get kicked. It seems the DayZ staff is picky about who they allow to run the game but there is no consistency when you connect. It's a crap shoot and takes allot of time mucking about to find a decent server.Should this be sorted out so everyone can get online faster and more efficiently. DrRageQuit 17 Posted June 11, 2012 Ever notice most of the servers are different? - Different version of the gameSome people still choose to use 1.6 because of the issues with 1.7- Different version of Arma 2 BETA versionsThis is just some server owners not updating due to the frequent releases- Locked severs- Severs with no zombies and no loot known issue thats being sorted.- Servers with no zombies and some lootknown issue thats being sorted.- Severs with text' date=' say version 1.7 but use 1.6 you don't know until you log in.[b']this pisses me off, server admins need to sort out their shit.- Servers that you can never connect to.Check your router firewall setup- Severs you load into and get kicked. BattlEye?.It seems the DayZ staff is picky about who they allow to run the game but there is no consistency when you connect. It's a crap shoot and takes allot of time mucking about to find a decent server.Should this be sorted out so everyone can get online faster and more efficiently.Couple of things that *should* be sorted with priority is server naming. There needs to be some standard when it comes to the name layout. I noticed recently a lot of servers shortened the start of the name, presumably so they can fit more crap in about who hosts the server. Save it for the MOTD if you HAVE to have people know who's hosting.something like: DayZ - UK1 [Veteran] [3rd=0] [tags=0] [uTC] [hostname@hostservice.com] dayzmod.comAt the moment filtering is difficult because theres UK# and UK # etc. pointless and difficult to use.I've also wondered why theres no SVN type setup that automatically updates server hive versions. Theres nothing more irritating than finding a server with a good ping that connects quickly, only to find its not updated 3 days after the hive update.
