Right. First of all: If this is in the wrong section, please feel free to direct me as to where it should be, or just move it there if you're capable.

Anyway, down to business.

I see a lot of "Squads" recruiting people. Asking for those who are skilled to join. They ask that you're able to hold your own in a fire-fight without (For lack of a better word) shitting yourself and aborting. Fair enough, power to them.

However, there doesn't seem to be any way of confirming if they're any good until the shit hits the fan, hell, they can just abort and you're left on your own.

Imagine that: Outnumbered, out gunned... Alone. Against five or so foes, all wanting to drop you just to take your tin of beans and your pack.

So here's what I'm proposing:

Team A, the recruiters, take their new-found comrade to a pre-arranged point where Team B lie in wait. (Team B are friendlies, perhaps a couple of people already in their squad.) However, the newcomer would be completely unaware of this.

Team A explain the plan to the newcomer, for example, they're raiding a town for supplies. In the unlikely event of spotting somebody, they should call out "Friendly?"

Team B would then call "Contact" and begin their assault on Team A.

This is just a rough idea, however, it would allow the squad leader to analyse his or her team. Seeing how they would react under pressure. It would serve as an exercise for both the existing members and the new comers. I could see it being quite beneficial.

Bear in mind, this is not exactly what would happen. But something along those lines, both teams would be kitted out with basic equipment, AK's or even side-arms.

Your thoughts?

Man...that's an awesome idea. A sort of squad trials. But there's one problem. What if the noob kills team b?

More power to them, that's sort of the idea.

Which is why they would be kitted out with basic equipment.

After that, they would be accepted. A sort of trial by fire, if you will.
