Is this a glitch or should i be worried?

Hey,

Alright so i've got this tent out in the middle of nowhere, hidden quite well in my opinion; it's got some pretty decent stuff, including a couple AS50s, NVGs, rangefinders, etc, etc. So i left it there for about 5 days, and then today i returned to save it and put some stuff in it, when i discovered another tent pitched kinda inside my own - like glitched half in half out. I looked in my own tent and absolutely nothing is gone, so it hasn't been robbed or anything, and then looked in the other tent, which seems to have nothing in it at all.

Is this likely to be some kind of glitch or has someone discovered my camp and decided not to steal anything?

Its more likely that the server just rendered two tents rather than one.

when you placed your tent did you happen to place it and decide to move it after words? If so that is the first one you put down. For some reason tents will multiply like that when you pitch a tent then take it down to move it after a server restart. I have seen as many as 10 tents pop up like this all from one tent and it's owner trying to find that "perfect" spot.

Lol that is very relieving. We did shuffle the tent around a few times before the finish position, but all before the server restart. I'm sure it must just be that same one. Is it safe to put things in or might they get deleted?

In 1.7.2.5 any deployed objects are actually permanent in game and literally can never be removed other than temporarily between server restarts.

Each time you place a tent, it will be there on server restart no matter what happens to it after placement.

You could effectively take 1 tent and place/pickup/replace it 10 times and there would be 10 tents there next server restart. But, also due to 1.7.2.5 bugs, none of the tents will save gear. Well, the one you "really" setup has a chance to one-off save the gear it had (which looks like worked for you). But none of the tents can have their state modified now. Each server restart that tent will be full of the gear you initially saved it with.

Oh well i guess that's kinda good - i wont lose any gear xD

Hopefully all these little bugs will be fixed in the standalone however.

I had the exact same problem last night. Full tent. Next day I come back to two empty tents almost on top of each other. I think its a bug after a server reset.

Yeah i havent lost anything yet, but i may do soon :s Oh well, nothing i can do xD
