JoeDaddy92 15 Posted August 31, 2012 Hi all,I jumped into a server this morning after a long night of awesomeness last night to see if my gear was still there. After about 5 minutes or so, I keeled over and died as well as everyone on the server. I figured it was a hacker and jumped off. My buddy Brian texted me at work saying we were raided and are vehicles were missing so I figured it was a server reset. My question is, when you are on a server that is in the middle of a reset, do you die and get fresh spawned back on the coast or do you die and respawn where you died?Thanks,JoeDaddy92
sp86 508 Posted August 31, 2012 If the "You Are Dead" screen popped up at any time you're dead. SA's will often restart a server following a major hack to try and get the hacker to go elsewhere, but if you died and the server was reset everything is gone, so, my condolences.
Mentize 21 Posted August 31, 2012 Being online during a server reset shouldn't do anything except re-fresh loot spawns. However on the current patch (1.7.2.5) there is a bug where tents disappear and vehicle inventories are set to default (Empty) -if you did not physically save the car using the scroll-wheel then the vehicle would of re-set as well.Server reset should not affect your character, its not uncommon for hackers to nuke an entire server just before server reset. The problem is I know I saved my tents before logging off and my buddy Zach saved the vehicles before logging off. I'm really hoping that I still have my ghillie suit O.o"

(They need to be the item-form, you can't undress bodies :l )

The ghillie suit fixed it apparently because it spawned me in debug plains and when I got back, I had 23K humanity and all of my kills etc. Edited August 31, 2012 by JoeDaddy92

SystemiK 366 Posted August 31, 2012 Also, keep in mind that occasionally after a server restart, the server will fail to load all tents and vehicles. They will be missing until the next restart gives them a chance to spawn properly.
sp86 508 Posted August 31, 2012 Whenever your model resets (IE during a skin change) it resets your debug monitor and your ammo counter. Your Kills, Murders, Bandit Kills and Humanity all track properly, your ammo counter does not. Additionally, Humanity tracks your CD key not your current life, it's how people end up with over a million negative humanity (To see your current humanity you need to load in with non-civilian clothing). I was giving my friend a blood tranfusion (I had about 4000 humanity) and after everything was said and done, the game gave me the hero skin, reset my humanity and kills, and emptied out my backpack. Ever since then, everytime I get into a server, log off, and then log back on, all my debug info is reset, I have full blood no matter what I had, If I had a broken leg, I could walk around with no morphine, If I was bleeding, it patched me up, no pain, and it would dupe my body and all of my stuff. It was a blessing and a burden. But when I put on that ghillie suit, everything changed and none of that happened anymore.

You spawn in, the game reads your humanity, and changes your model doing what I described in the previous post. The healing is new, and may be a result of damage not tracking correctly in 1.7.2.5. sp86 508 Posted August 31, 2012 They're all Civilian initially, but then bandit and hero change to a different skin via script according to a formula based on humanity (-2500 for bandit, +5000 for hero). This script is the same as the one used to transition between camos, so it inherits the same glitches (resetting debug and ammo counter).
