Equipping civilian clothing strange things happened. What does it all mean?

I managed to come across a Coyote pack and civilian clothing. I got the pack and ran off because it was near a tractor which all seamed strange.

I checked the dayz wiki about the clothing and it said if you equip it while already wearing those clothes it will become a black version of the same clothes. I thought that would be pretty cool.

So I did it and sure enough my character clothes turned black also my humanity went to 0 and so did kills and head-shots(as well as my newly acquired coyote pack vanishing><, but replaced with the alice backpack I had before).

What I want to know does your skin go black because of a glitch and making your humanity and that is the new bandit skin?( i have heard nothing about it changing to that though)

if it is not that how can I keep that black outfit between sessions? As when I log back in my outfit goes back to normal. Also my kill stats return to normal as-well.

also I did not put this in the bug section as I do not know if it is one.

Don't know about the black civilian clothing, but recently when I put on a ghillie suit all my stats (humanity, kills & headshots) reverted back to 0 like you experienced. Over the course of about the next 2 hours gameplay my humanity went back up to where it was previously but my kills & headshots stayed the same.

It always happens when you change clothes. If you relogin your stats should be back, plus whatever you gained while they were reset. If your humanity is near 0 and you want a hero skin then you can exploit this to get it without spending anything except time. Just wait till your humanity gets to 2500, change clothes, wait till it gets to 2500 again, relogin, now you should have a hero skin. Also because of the same bug your humanity is slowly increasing without a limit if you wearing a hero skin and relogging once it gets to 2500.

All your debug monitor stats get "hidden" when you put a new skin/clothes on. Next time you join a server your stats will be what they should be. The pack thing - equipping a new skin/clothes with a pack on kills the pack, so next time, take it off, put your clothes on, then grab your pack back. Each time I've done this though it's spawned a new empty copy of my pack on the ground while I got mine back.

Logging out and logging in returns all your stats to what they were. Though it is worth mentioning even though the debug view had 0 kills when I pressed "i" the board showed me with the full amount of kills previously. So it seems to be a client side bug, which is good.

Sucks that I have to re equip every time I join though to get that clothing. Maybe one day I will find a ghillie suit or camo gear.

Characters in the Survivor skin may appear in different colors to different people at the same time. You may see yourself wearing black clothes but someone standing next to you might see you for example in jeans and white shirt. So there is really no point in switching between different sets of civilian clothing with a purpose of altering your appearance.
