A sudden increase in faith!

Recommended Posts

Lately I have been running into a lot of very mean people on the forums and in Dayz itself, but recently that hasn't happened!

Whenever I try to get help from a player "in-game" I always get shot, so I usually just try to avoid people if I can, but if they can't be avoided and are trying to reach the same goal as me (IE: Looting the same place I am, fixing the same car, or our cross of paths in inevitable) then I just, take care of them. (Hence being a Bandit) but I had just recently asked for a ride to the NW airfield a couple of days ago, and someone actually came and picked me up, and gave me a ride without the exchange of bullets! And even offered me NVGs and an AS50 (Which I already had). Then the next day, my character glitched while vaulting and I became unconcious at 4000 blood at the AIRFIELD, and someone who was actually a Hero, came to save me, the Bandit! We exchanged skype names and trades such and such for ghille suits and we raided the airfield together. Who said Bandits can't be friends with survivors? Well I guess it depends on the type of bandit, but still, it was a nice change of pace!

How did you ask for the ride?

Direct chat isn't very far reaching.

Was it a private server with the global chat on?

As for working WITH someone in game, it doesn't usually work out for me. My buddy and I play together and pretty much shoot on sight. If another player arrives, even unarmed (we play far far away from the beach and unarmed players where we are usually have a hidden hatchet or pistol ready; learned that the hard way), they get shot if they don't follow direct chat directions. Usually I tell them to stay back at least across the room and one of us watches while we loot or back away. If they move or try to run around a corner, they get shot. Just not worth the risk of them coming back around with that gun or hatchet.

If they are calling friendly, like some guy did the other day wanting to come into the barn we were in, they are given a chance. But, as I was saying in direct chat to the guy, come in sideways and do not point a gun at us. Silly fool walked in head on and his gun was in our direction, he got shot. Just not worth taking the risk.

After getting a hero skin my friendly encounters tend to be heavily armed people with bandit skins, it's ... surreal. Course you can't get too comfortable, lest you be trying to counter-snipe and one of them comes after your ass with an Axe (RIP Stringbean).

I noticed since they added the bandit skin again that other bandits wont shoot me when I am unarmed, everyone else will. I've been doing the same. Still killing most unarmed heroes and survivors. ;)

Man, when I see an unarmed bandit I'll usually run up and whisper kick them, but that's about it.
