Double Sniper Fail...

Recommended Posts

So I lost my M16A2 but found a DMR at Balota Airstrip. I figured that I would give an honest attempt at sniping other snipers and/or bandits.

So on the clock/bell tower in cherno I broke my legs just by laying prone (not recorded), I then proceed to miss a headshot on a running target (eh it happens).

Fail #1: Then another sniper starts shooting all around me, not sure where they were in order to get all the angles on me, but their aim is terrible.

Fail#2: while taking refuge on the back side of the tower I fall the hell off of it, just to be saved by a ledge... then fall the hell off that and die :(

Long story short, I am pretty sure I'm done with sniping.

You had the cojones to throw up a video of yourself failing to snipe a player and dying to some ridiculous fall. You get my beans for doing so and I'm glad you took your suicide like a man!

Yeah it pisses me off when people combat log so I don't do it. I don't even abort to clear zombies. Death doesn't phase me, it just forces me to get back on the grind and find new gear that I hopefully haven't had yet.

Rule #1 for DayZ sniping... Don't choose an idiotic hide.

The city hall in Cherno is one of the worst possible spots you can be. You are open to counter snipers from the hills, the industrial building roofs, and from anywhere on the streets. You want a spot that-

1: is not instantly suspected as your spot should someone hear the report of your rifle. Don't sit on rooftops if there is an area/building with more altitude than your spot.

2: has an easy spot to bug out from. Don't corner yourself by sitting on a roof with only 1-2 exits... Especially if those exits are ladders.

3: provides good cover. You want to have cover in reach should a round from a counter sniper hit near you. Laying down next to trees and rolling behind them is ideal.

Yes.

Yeah, this was my first "real" attempt at sniping, I had never been up in that spot before so I wanted to check it out, I figured other snipers would spot me sooner or later lol.

Just like the helicopter, you don't want to go balls deep immediately before you have any amount of experience.

Anyways, thank you for not combat logging... I would give you a can of Mountain Dew, but there is only an option to give you beans.

You can keep your mountain dew, I pick up cans of coke because it tastes way better with my spiced rum than mtn dew :)

Oh god, please don't start with ignorant chopper pilots that think they can fly the thing with no training.... Had plenty of those already.
