Interface glitching. Can't make fire/pick up bag etc

For some reason my interface seems to be highlighting all options at all times. so when i try to make a fire i see the otpion to for a tenth of a second and i cant do it. I can't pick up a bigger bag, it only gives me the option to open it on the ground.

any suggestions? thanks. I love this game.
