Willynelson 2 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) First of all : I back you Rocket, Go Hard Bro, I hope you stem the growth of the pathetic hackers who wish to take your dream from you through there own selfishness, inpatience and inability to play to the rules. The hackers may in the end be the true dayz end of this gameBut here's my recent experience for anyone who cares to read..I have started to game with a guy called John found on a steam Dayz group. We were both in a Stary among the line up of military tents when I spot through the DMR scope a guy following John. I let John know what’s going on and say hold your nerve he hasn’t fired.John makes the decision that his life is at risk (which you generally do when I guy is pointing a scoped rifle at you) and opens fire dropping between 2-4 pistol rounds in the player before he returns fire dropping John on the spot. (M14 Rifle vrs Makarov Pistol I get that, John should have weighed up his situation better)In revenge mode though, I let rip with the DMR 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 shots into this guys chest… blood flies away from him as the bullets rip through his ghilli suit.He brushes himself off, turns towards me scopes and fires. First shot turns my screen grey (half blood) second shot finishes me.John seems nonchalance about it all (getting used to hackers?) but i had clocked up ~150 Zombie kills on that life had a full kit of everything but the night vision goggles, and was actually enjoying having a run of several nights in a row without being removed of my life force...Im gutted. Another hacker has ruined another of my runs… No one can take 8-10 shots, without cheating.Everyone has a breaking point, of which mine was approaching fast which is why im so glad that someone has invited us to play on a Private server, off the hive. Im sorry that i can no longer participate in the Alpha for Rocket as a fellow Kiwi and support the growth of this game by testing for him but I have had to make a decision about the use of my free time (I have a family, a career, my time is limitied) and the dissapointment of being cheated of this is too much.At least eventually the only players who will be left are hackers so they will be easy to spot? sostronk 334 Posted August 30, 2012 Ive been doing the same thing. Its kind of important to play with the server admin though, he can revert the effects of a hacker. If you run solo though the admin may not care. I got killed on a private hive last night by a hacker. Its the first hacker Ive seen on there. It was only me he suffered from him so nothing was reverted. Your usually more protected as a solo player in a private hive with a decent admin, but you gotta be buddies with the server admin if you want to be completely safe. Yes hackers can still get on but I imagine their more likely to get on higher pop servers then ones with only a couple people on.Problem is that the "threshold" of a low population server is droppingUsed to be less that 15 you were reasonably safe from hackers, i have been hit recently with only 5-10 of us on being launched into the atmosphere..I even had a invisible hacker singing happy birthday to himself the other night from less than 5 feet from me all the time no-where to be seen.,...I suppose he thinks he's clever and is probably crawling forums to find people talking about him..
