Legitimately killed or hacked?

So me and a buddy of mine are scoping out Elecktro from one of the nearby hills, covering our 3rd guy who's looting. We spot a sniper with an AS50 on a hill neaby, and try to stalk our way over to him. The sniper (i assume) gets in a gunfight with some other guy, and one of them dies. We reach the snipers spot (after like 10minutes, my friend disconnected i had to wait for him) and found nothing but a hidden body.

So we figure either the sniper killed him and hid his body to be a dick, or the other guy killed the sniper and hid his body to be a dick. We snake back to our previous hill and set up shop again (our friend is pinned down in the church).

Out of fucking no where, we see this in Direct communication

So do you think he legitimately stumbled across us, stalked us for 20minutes solid and snuck up on us, or was using some sort of nameplate hack?

The shot was point blank, and i heard/saw nothing.

And yes i'm mad.
