Captain Rhodes 3 Posted August 29, 2012 Im using Dayz Commander to join games and being a noob ive been trying to stick to day servers while i get the hang of things. What is with the server times on commander? I dont know how many times ive joined a server that says day time and it loads up and its night and vice versa. Am i doing something wrong? What is the easiest way to join a day server?
Skat3rat 1633 Posted August 29, 2012 I have this issue with Commander too. It's a glitch or something.
Wiley 49 Posted August 29, 2012 As I understand it, the thing DayZCommander uses to determine server time is something that has to be set by the server admin, independent of what's actually going on. If it's not done correctly, the time it shows isn't the actual time on the server. Wish it were otherwise.
Captain Rhodes 3 Posted August 29, 2012 Ya i wish i was different too... atleast i know its not just me. Thanks for info!!
jurrasstoil (DayZ) 12 Posted August 29, 2012 From what I understand servers get out of sync with the timecycle sometimes and need to be restarted to be correct again. eg. if it says UTC+1 in the description, it doesn't necessarily have to be true all the time. So, for now it's a trial and error mostly.
Honjura 4 Posted August 29, 2012 Quoted from : http://www.dayzcommander.com/faq "How do the server times work, and why are they sometimes wrong?DayZ servers don't provide this information directly, but server admins often place the current UTC offset in the server name.DayZ Commander converts this to a more readible time and allows you to filter and sort on it. This also means, if the server name displays the wrong offset, the time will not be accurate in Commander."
Siberian (DayZ) 527 Posted August 29, 2012 yea dayZ cmder needs to update/patch in a sync to the ACTUAL current time in game when pinged.gonig throu all the hassle to find the server is light/dark depending on what your scanning for is a serious PITA given how long it can take to actual span in game sometimes..
