DayZee Android app ideas

First off, you may notice the formatting is very funky, currently for my test builds I'm linking directly to DayZwiki data. Until I know I'm allowed to use data from their site I'll be waiting to do any formatting. I do plan on copying most of the data locally inside the app to speed up load times. I'll also work on cleaning up the GUI a little bit. This is targeting towards ICS Devices (4.0.X+) but will work on any 2.2 device and up.

Currently in the app:

map

loot table

weapon stats

vehicle stats & locations

equipment info

consumables info

I know that a few people have already made a few DayZ apps that are maps and what not so I would like to create one that is more then just a map. Beyond an interactive map, what would you guys want to see in a DayZ android app??

Things I have planned:

Map of course

Loot tables (%chance of drop etc..)

Possible server browser just to see how full servers are and stuff(haven't looked into how hard that would be yet)

weapon table (with loudness range etc..)

vehicle table (what vehicles spawn, what parts they have, etc..)

I'd be very interested in hearing what you guys would want in a DayZ android app.

That all depends on the forum software they use, if there's a mobile version or not, or if they have support for Tapatalk you can use that app

What about a comparisson feature in the app. So that one can say compare the pro's and con's of switching between the AKM you are using and an M16?

That way a player can better decide if they want to pickup a new found weapon or not.

What I'd like to see if a Map which shows the wiki spawn locations for equipment, guns, and or vehicles. Also MORE IMPORTANTLY!! a way to draw on the map for marking (like ACE) to share with your team and or to keep track of your tents / areas.

Very good ideas, however I find (in my mind) those mostly hard to implement as the map portion stands. It's currently linking to an online version of a map. Adding such functions would be impossible for me to do.

If I were to code all the tiles of this map into a local Google Maps style API format I could possibly add a drawing overlay but with my current Java knowledge it's unfortunately over my head.. however great idea I would definitely want that feature.

There's a seperate version I had mad of an interactive Chern map that I was adding hospital locations, loot locations, vehicle locations, etc. but the resolution on it was poor unless I payed a fee. If the ads in the app yield any revenue I'll for sure swap out maps with the better one. I believe it also allows you to store user made tags per clicked location that will show up just for you if you have an account.. I'll look into it more though.

I'll have a public beta ready by next Friday. There might be some placeholder content while I get sorted out on what I have permission to use and what not.

I've also added a "Patch Notes" feature to show the most recent patch notes and what the current DayZ version/OA Beta version is.

Also in the future I'll add some RSS feeds from the more popular DayZ resources so you guys can keep up with the latest news on the go.

I can't believe this thread, last few days I've been working on a DayZ mobile app and about the same time we published them. We should have collaborated, peperonikiller. I'm new to these forums tho. I searched google for dayz android and found nothing a while back and decided to whip up something
