Handguns nerfed or is it because of the server difficulty?

So i haven't played in a while and wanted to try the game. When i got in i noticed it took my handgun about 5-7 shots in the chest of a zombie for him to die.

Is this a nerf to the handguns or is it because of the server? Because i remember i one shotted zombies with revolver before.
