Breaking into a stumble.

Recommended Posts

Hi all, New to this forum, I would first like to conratulate DayZ on all its success. Its an incredible idea that will only become better over time!

I have been playing DayZ for about a month now, the whole idea is fantastic, the scenery is haunting, and the wide range of emotions that it puts you through all in one sitting is awesome.

I enjoy watching other people running away from Zombies in this game, apart from the general surge of happiness I get from watching a horde attack someone else apart from myself for a change, it means it's usually a clear path to wherever they are leading the zombies away from.

I think mocap, "movie like" panicked animations of fellow players running away from zombies would be a great bit of eyecandy for the stand alone game, picture yourself sitting under a tree with some binoculars on a hill, watching a horde chase a fellow player out of town, The player would be stumbling down onto one knee, swinging their head around every now and then to get a view of their attackers, wider eyes, open mouthed while breathing heavy..

The speed of the player would of course have to not change after a stumble, to allow for a fair enough and constant speed to run away.

To me, it's all about the atmosphere and eyecandy ! the little details, like cooking meat on a fire, or actually needing a knife to gut an animal you've just taken down, make these kinds of games so much more rewarding and worthwhile!
