Ping gets worse over time

Title says it. Whenever I begin playing DayZ my ping, no matter the server, will progressively get worse and worse. It gets to the point where I can no longer join my favorite servers, most of them have ping kick enabled. It does not matter though, as ping gets to the point where decent gameplay is near impossible even on servers with ping kick disabled.

I will start at about 30-70, and a hour or two later I am in the high 200s, low 300s. I have done all basic measurements (turn off programs that use the internet, etc) to ensure a quality connection. I am running a wireless connection, but it is still fast enough to handle online gaming. DayZ is the only game that does this.

I know Arma and especially DayZ don't exactly have the best netcode on the planet but any help on the matter would be appreciated.
