Spawning water losing everything!!!

So yesterday we were playing in a server and I logged out after I was finished playing and 2 guys I was playing with said I was still there but I was ai.. I was like wtf! So I cameback in and I'm in the middle of the ocean.

Today I'm playing again we're at the NW airfield in a car and I get out go into some trees and log out and somehow my guy turns to AI and goes back to the car and gets in. I comeback in after my teammates told me what happened and I'm in the ocean. One of the guys I was with logged out and I watched him turn to AI and start to run towards the car..

What causes this? I keep losing everything I have from it..
