Need help (nothing serious ;)

Ok, so my friend has a small problem. He doesnt see the letters "Chernarus / Elektro / Day 5" for example appear in his bottom right corner. On any server.

He has the same games as i do, arma 2 free and bought OA both on steam, but his menu looks kinda greenish?

Does anyone know how to fix that?

I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but is the 3D resolution the same as the interface resolution, and are they both not set higher than what the monitor can handle?

Yeah, something like that

Then your friend start Arma 2 and not Operation Arrowhead.

Yeah, same with him, the typing noise is there, but no letters and those are really helpfull if you just spawned or are lost.

He bought the game maybe a week later, so maybe the beta patch automatically downloaded?

When he finishes being afk while im trying to help him, will try what

Liquidje suggested and come back with results if someone else has the same problem

EDIT: @Spider, No, we checked. He starts Arma 2: CO on steam, he can play the game normally

Its one of the recent beta patches I believe. Could be wrong. Try playing game with normal (non beta patched arma ) in steam. Right click combined ops. Check version number in game is non beta then join dayz server. Might see the text then.

You dont need info though. You know how long you have been alive. You dont need game to tell you. Use dayz wiki to learn how to navigate and orient yourself. If you rely on the type out to tell where you are you are just walking beans for a bandit anyway lol

My friend also has this issue, no letters being displayed. Makes the sounds etc just no visual.

He runs the steam version, and is running the latest beta also.

I run the same versions of DayZ and Arma beta and mine works fine. Mine is not through steam which is the only difference.

I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if there is any possible fixes.
