One of my moments...

So I am Yakov, respawned yet again, in a familiar location under the name of Kamenka. So, as I wanted to play, I was mad my old character got bugged because I lost my stuff (nothing of value but an Alice Pack and some medication).

So there I was, once again crawling around and looking for supplies to help me in my journey. I didn't come across anything of value but a drink and a Jerry Can. I felt underwhelmed. A village full of zombies and no loots? Damn!

But then, I saw it, a miracle, it's like my dream came true, childhood fantasy a reality and--

Ahem, anyway, I found a truck. A goddamn military truck in working condition with 3/4 of fuel in it's tank as it was standing in the MIDDLE OF GODDAMN KAMENKA. So to my surprise I didn't find it's previous owners which made me assume they probably got eaten, so I didn't bother to look for their remains.

Being overwhelmed with excitement, I placed myself in the seat of the vehicle, gloriously turned the engine on and blasted off down the coast. As I drove, I had at least 10 zombies sprinting after me, but I didn't care, so I just kept driving on and on. I realized I should have taken that Jerry Can with me, but It was too late to go back now. After I cleared my thoughts and quickly brainstormed of my next stop, I erased all the possibilities of going towards Chernogorsk (which was, at my time, straight East), so I decided to cut through the fields and take the first road inland. Everything was going great - I was heading God knows where, to find a place where I can park the car for my friends and myself to use later. I accidentally missed the main road from Komarovo and got to the road that leads straight to Chernogorsk. Freaked out, I recklessly turned 180* and started heading in the opposite direction - north.

I got to Nadeshdino to find myself trapped. The main road was blocked, so I had to maneuver the car carefully to get to the other end. I was surprised that there were no zombies. At all. Ghost town. And no loot either.

So I went on, further to the north. I was now in the middle of map. I knew that the most populated places are ahead of me, and I needed to find a way to move around them, so I can safely hide the vehicle without any casualties. I ruled out a plan: my job was to safely get Lapatino (a small, rarely visited village just west of the main airfield), after I'm there, I'll follow a dirt-road north, to the wasteland. That's where I will be safe. But a problem arose - I was running out of fuel.

I felt worried, and helpless - I needed to get to Lapatino ASAP.

I hit a T-crossing -- to the left is Rogovo, and to the right the infamous Stary Sobor. I knew I needed to avoid the Sobors, so I took the left turn. But that's where I made my only, and biggest mistake.

To cut my route short, and get to my destination as fast as possible, I took the main road north from Rogovo, which would later lead me to Kabanino.

My ill demise was at the hands of a group of 3. Marauders with military weapons, who seemed to have been looting a Deer Stand just on the main road that I was on. We met by a mere coincidence. I flipped out, when they saw me they hesitated, but it took them less then a second to open fire on me. I was even more scared than before. I started driving past them, though I thought I could just blast off and survive. One of them was on my way, but I missed him by an inch when I tried to drive him over. Bastard. He shot at me with his pump shotgun as I drove past him, fatally wounding me. I immediately stopped and rolled out of the driver's seat, bleeding... unconscious. At the last moment, I thought how close I was to reaching my goal, and how sad I was that I couldn't fulfill this task... how useless this whole idea was...

... then came a flash... and only darkness before me.
