KapteinKnipmes 0 Posted August 28, 2012 Hey guys.Firstly my specs.Core i7 2600K @ 4.8ghz8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3Asus Rampage Extreme moboGeforce 570 DirectCU II.Generally my game runs really good, nice smooth fps, but here are my settings and these are the Issues I am having performance wise:Video Memory - Default3D + 2D resolution are both my Native resolutionAA is offAF is on 4xPost Processing is offShadows are offView Distance 1600All other details set to medium or off.Vsync offNvidia Settings - Prefer Maximum PerformanceFrames to Render Ahead 0-3 ( Meaning I have experimented with 0,1,2 and 3)Issue is, even with these super low settings, once I use a scoped weapon and zoom in, my fps drops horribly, and by horribly I mean my fps drops by up to 40fps until I stop scoping / zooming. This happens even when looking directly at the ground or sky.Randomly when near towns like cherno, elektro, zeleno my fps would drop to 40-45fps until I move out and keep the town at my back where the fps would jump up again. It's a bit odd. I know there are many details and lots of things going on in the bigger towns, but that is quite a severe fps drop! Also I see lots of youtube streamers playing Dayz With shadows enabled and the game runs smooth as silk, yet my specs are superior, but if I enable shadows even at it's lowest setting, my FPS drops to below 20 in most cases.I've had a look at the various ARMAII config commands, FoV tweaks etc.Any other tips or things to look at? Cheers!

VeNoM56k 158 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) Phenom II X4 980 BE @ stockGigabyte Windforce GTX 670ASUS M5A97 Mobo16BG Kingston HyperX GenesisI only upgraded to the 670 about 5 weeks ago from a 560ti. With the 560ti I used to have to look for a good server to have decent fps, though I did use to take a noticable drop when near buildings.Since upgrading to the 670 I have not had any problems with fps(aside from the odd crap server) even near buildings(I do still get a drop in fps but its usually only about 5 now and is not noticable). Same goes for 1.7.2.5, have not had any problems with it yet, fps wise.A friend did get a decrease in fps since the new patch but his system barely runs it anyway so I thought it was just him. lol Edited August 28, 2012 by VeNoM56k
twinturbonet (DayZ) 294 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) Yea, my FPS is averaging 30/42 fps... when zoomed at a city I think I got 25... zoomed in the sky and I'm back at 42 fps. This game just runs like crap, granted... this is at the highest settings. Hopefully the stand alone will run 10x better. Here is my specs... Other than the video card (which isn't THHHHATT old) I'm going to say my system should run this game at top freakin' notch...Mobo: Asus Crosshair Formula V (latest flash - I flashed for others reasons, not DayZ)Video: ATI 6950 (latest drivers)Ram: 16gbCPU: AMD FX 8150 8 core 3.6ghz O/C 3.8ghzNative: 1680x1050. twinturbonet (DayZ) 294 Posted August 28, 2012 God Bless SLII was going with a Crossfire setup and I read that it didn't really help DayZ much. Does your SLI setup help your FPS? If so, do you mind posting your rig details? Video cards etc.
