Jeffers3095 0 Posted August 28, 2012 Well tents seem to be on and off. You save them, the server restarts they disappear, it restarts again and they come back. Vehicles always just seem stuff up. Sharpaviva 2 Posted August 28, 2012 At the moment, tents won't save the loot inside the tent. What tents do is every time the server resets it deletes all the items added since the latest patch. If loot was inside the tent before the patch, the loot will continue to respawn at server restart. Vehicles however do save your items. I have a bus I've put a few things in about 2 days ago and it's all still there. So at the moment, vehicles are the safest way to store your equipment, but ofc remember, someone steals ur vehicle, not only you lost the vehicle but your stuff also. kebman 213 Posted August 28, 2012 I'm pretty sure this is server spesific. I've had tents on some servers disappear completely. Other servers save only the tents. And yet other servers save everything just fine. I don't get it. So the way I treat it, is that I make a note of good servers, favourite them, and log back in there to play more, while I stay away from servers with bad saving. JeanRochefort 0 Posted August 28, 2012 I've read a long time ago about tent, the best way is to pitch a tent before a server restart, then use it only after the server's restart...Not very sure if it's really ok 100%, my tents have always respawned after a restart.Some people say to put something inside not very important like a soda that can help for a 1st server restart.And always, don't forget to "save the tent" after every inventory operations...The thing that can help from dayz developement team is the number of free slots in those tents and cars ;) Crazy when you put 1 more object and see this one desapearing somewhere! reddeer01 5 Posted August 28, 2012 I'm in a backwards situation for some.On my server stuff saves in tents perfectly fine. But putting stuff in any of our vehicles and then going through a server restart makes the stuff which was originally inside of it disappear and be replaced by the items which were inside the vehicle when we found it... Kinda frustrating when you're on your way back to base camp and BOOM! restarts your have to find your vehicle only to know anything you had is gone. Hell; we lost a whole vehicle because of it. Try to add things after a server restart and nothing new you add will save.Honestly, this is why I am taking a break from DayzI agree, our server is doing this.You can pitch a tent and place items into it. after you save that tent it will save the items BUT you can only get those items from that tent now and it won't save anything else.As for vehicles they won't save at all and the helicopter will reset its locations every server restart.
