Computer question

Recommended Posts

Hello, I love DayZ but my laptop isn't as strong as it used to be, so, I'm buying a new one. But, I don't know if I should buy an 8 GB or 12 GB, whichever one will run DayZ smoothly.

My current laptop:

Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard

Model: HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC

Rating: 4.2 Windows Experience Index

Processor: AMD Phenom II P650 Dual-Core Processor 2.60 GHz

Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 (3.74 GB usable)

System Type: 64-bit Operating System

I'm buying the laptops from the Best Buy website so if you have a suggestion for one of them post it.

Also, I don't need a laptop that runs it best, as long as it can run DayZ at Medium quality smoothly with 0 lag I'll take it.

just make sure it has an i5 or i7 none of that amd shit and you dont need 12 gb of ram 6 is good enough. also as long as it has nvidia graphics not intel it should run ok..i can find one if you give a price range..

actually to be honest since you have a decent laptop for other stuff you should probably build a desktop for gaming. a new laptop wont run games for very long. i got a $2000 dell laptop ran cod4 at about 100 fps and when cod5 came out it ran that at about 30-50 fps..honestly laptops are shit for gaming just because they have gaming laptops does not mean theyre good..

Coudlnt agree more. Gaming laptops are not as future proof as desktops can be. If you have the funds build an I7 desktop with a good graphics card (Nvidia of course) and you will be good for a while. If you need more GPU in the future you can always get a 2nd graphics card and do SLI.

Good luck
