Here's a tip. If you want top tier items but only have mid tier items, just go and raid the airfield. Even if you just hit both barracks you can get enough guns to arm 2 or 3 people. Even if you don't get want you wanted you'll have better things to trade with.

For example: say you find an m16a4 acog and a PDW. Trade that for an silenced m4 or whatever else you can get.
