DayZ and ATi = Memory leaks?

Recommended Posts

I upgraded my graphics from a Nvidia 9800 to a 7950 ATi radeon. But after that im having serious issues with FPS. It wont matter if i put it on lowest (800 x 600) or highest resolution (2560 x 1440) and graphics. I still get around 15 FPS, i have managed to get a good FPS a couple times but it needs constant restarts of game and changing of options.

I have the latest drivers and only Arma 2 gives me problems.

Rest of my specs are:

Intel i7-2600k @ 4.6GHz

8gb 1600MHz DDR3

Corsair SSD

So its not the rest of my computer that's bad, it is some weird memory leak or something within the game when using ati perhaps.

Nice graphics card. Can you let us know if the problem is on every server or is this on one particular server you are playing on. Also can you take a screen shot of the Video options you have set in game so we can see what you are trying to run.

I think it's probably the server. I have an HD 6970 and for some reason I get 5-20 FPS on some servers when I'm normally above 60 the whole time on others. It's strange but yeah, just try another server...

Its on all servers but when i have bin able to get it to work i have run all on max but AA. Had a steady FPS of 50 or so. I also tried fideling around with video memory but it havnt done anything towards my fps at all.

Leave the video memory on default it allows dayz to use as much or as little is needed. As for AA even if you have a supper powered PC with dual Graphics cards I still wouldn't turn that up much beyond the first or second settings its a resource hog always. Try disabling it or turning it down a good bit.

I even get low FPS at the main menu. But not when launching just arma with dayZ not running. So its DayZ that fucks my FPS up not the game it self.

I actually tried launching arma 2 first then enabling dayz from within the game and it seems to work. But there must be another way. I prefer to launch through steam.

Hm. I run my DayZ at Very High settings with my system (specs below) and in the menus I get 60, during gameplay I get 29 thru 39 fps. I keep my video memory at default, I cycle my HDR from low to high at times, and I turn off Post Process just because I don't like it.

Mobo: Asus Crosshair Formula V (latest flash - I flashed for others reasons, not DayZ)

Video: ATI 6950 (latest drivers)

Ram: 16gb

CPU: AMD FX 8150 8 core 3.6ghz O/C 3.8ghz
