Slow Boat

So I found a boat and put a new engine in, refueled it and it still only goes 10km/h. It's some kind of covered motorboat. Any idea what else i can try to get it moving?

If Chernarus was an island, with actual rivers, I would say use it.

Since this is not the case and you might at well be floating on a board, I have no idea what you should do with it..

Zombies run about 30 km/h. Players probably run at 20 or so...

So, since the boat is slower than a player... Maybe you could trade it and give it to a collector? Or shoot it...?

Or use it to go up and down the coast, pleasure boat style!

Take it out to deeper waters, and make your way around the coast to the north in it - it's a safer way of getting there.

Ha. Well I found in in the very NE part of the map in that inlet. It was beached and took a bit of moving to get fully into the water. Repairing the engine made it look prettier but no increase in speed. I drove that thing all the way down to Solnichny (was heading for that island in the SE). Stop to get gas near Solnichny, get DCed. Come back in and my lovely boat is gone (this was within seconds, so no one stole it) then 30 seconds later every single person in the server died. Hoorah.

If you hold the shift key down, along with the forward key, you can get it to go a little faster.
