joker76 0 Posted June 11, 2012 I don't read the forums enough to know if this has already been suggested or not, but in an attempt to add some sort of deterrent towards killing fellow survivors...If you are killed by another survivor, the 'murderer' should be location-tagged, i.e. a persistent position/distance marker on the screen of the person he killed - this could remain visible for a fixed amount of time (i.e. anything up-to ten minutes). This would give the victim a chance to get some payback, and also leave the murderer with something to seriously think about before and after he takes the life of a fellow survivor. You could develop the idea, so for example the more people you killed, the longer the 'location-tag' remains visible (the location-tag duration would reset back to the default once the murderer has been killed).... or, rather than it being persistent, maybe it could popup for a few seconds, once a minute, for ten-minutes.Additionally, if someone is killing several people, as well as being 'location-tagged' for anyone he killed, the server could perhaps make the same location-tag visible for a small but random number of players on the server. For example, if I've just killed three survivors in a row, then as well as being location-tagged for ten-minutes for each of those guys, I'm also location-tagged for 60-seconds on the screen of one other random survivor. If I kill again, then I'm location-tagged for 60-seconds on the screen of two random survivors.... just a thought. :)

dale0404 16 Posted June 11, 2012 I aint a bandit but this idea aint a good one! All you are trying to do (it seems) is to nerf people who are bandits.
ruairiau 0 Posted June 12, 2012 IRL victims don't get payback. People don't play this game because it gives them a nice warm fuzzy feeling; they play it because it's brutal. This is survival of the fittest; it should be harsh and terrifying. In no other game have I held people at gun point whilst making a trade or trying to figure out their motives. That feeling of distrust is what makes this game.
punisher_1 3 Posted June 12, 2012 I still think you should get a bloody clothing skin after you loot the body after all how blood sprays in this game you have no choice. The gear and stuff would have blood on them.
haviv[3rdid] 57 Posted June 12, 2012 One of the funny things about ArmA3 was that you can shoot someone, wear his clothes and nobody notices the blood all over you.
qksilvr73 4 Posted June 14, 2012 I don't have a problem with being killed, it's not knowing who killed me that bugs me. LOL. I mean I had met a couple peeps last night, and was killed while following them in the forest NE of Cherno. I couldn't see nothing in the forest and can only assume it was someone with NV goggles. Just would be nice to know who you can trust and stay away from the next time you go in game.
Slamz 6 Posted June 14, 2012 Shoot you, log out, go to bed.orShoot you, log out, go to another server. This suggestion doesn't have legs. I agree there somehow needs to be accountability of some sort but the proposal here won't help.
catstyle (DayZ) 6 Posted June 14, 2012 I logged in this morning, noticed 3 guys running of in the distance.Shot one in the stomach, enough to make him bleed hard, only fired one shot. They all ran in different directions. Then I moved out of the area.I got a rush out of it, positioning myself in danger, they were 3, I was alone in a bad position.Id bet loads on that these 3 lads also had a rush from it, scary but still a rush.Thats what keeps the game interesting. The world is not a great and glorious place when everything is down the drain. If I killed him, with your idea implanted his friends would know exactly where I was if they had any kind of communication outside of the game.Making the situation not as scary, easier to either avoid me or kill me.Where is the thrill in that?If he just died, and all he could say in their voicechat (im dead!) I could imagine their panic on trying to figure out of they should search for me, or run the hell away, whatever they pick, they still dont know my location by a longshot, besides a direction.
