Tigger (DayZ) 24 Posted August 27, 2012 Everyone whines about .50 cal sniper rifles. But having played the game for about two months, I haven't found a single .50 cal rifle on it's spawn point. What I have found though behind every second tree is a tent full of all useful military gear. I can spawn in and within 10 minutes I've got back the AS50/L85/NVG/GPS/RF/ghillie/coyote.The main attraction of the game is gathering equipment. It's some sort of weird human condition that we like doing it. Tents in the current form managed to collapse this part of the game, since you could either scrounge every barn and find a CZ550 in an hour, or run to the closest tent location you know and just get a AS50 like everyone else. Removing tents would fix this.Tents are a great idea in general, but in this broken state it's better not to have them than to have them. You solve a lot of problems the game has:1) Sniping noobs will go back to it's legitimate risk/reward. You missed the guy with a hatchet that sneaked to you from behind? Have fun searching for heli crash sites to get your gear back.2) Gathering equipment will be fun once again. Remember when you really wanted that rangefinder but couldn't find it? You really need to kit out to eat during the helicopter hunt/airfield raids. Can't just run to your camp by the black lake that always has everything you need.3) The 50 guns in the game that aren't a L85 or a AS50 will get their value back. You'll pick up a AK74 and search for a AKM, then you'll find a M4CCO and be really happy about it, only to find a M14 later, what an upgrade! 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
