FYI for new players, when you gear up and head north, don't just bounce into a town even if a low pop server. Use your binos and scan the area from a safe distance! just wasted 2 hours going to Stary and got shot crawling to grocery store cause Im an idiot. Ugh.

Actually, one of the best tactics is to keep on the move. Quick in-and-outs are preferrable, because even if the enemy spots you, they'll have a hard time tracking you. In my experience it's never wise to stay somewhere over 15 minutes.

No point crawling in this game, use buildings to lose zombies. Crawling just makes you an easy target - it's always harder to shoot a runner.

That and don't go on high pop servers :P

I just now joined some random Dallas server and within 20 seconds of signing in, we all get teleported into the air. Good times.

Being quick to move is critical. When ever I go into a major city I move quick. Run from enter able building to enter able building as quick as possible. Loot as much gear as I can then get out. Crawling is only useful if you can't risk getting zombies' attention.
