hi. is it possible to play Dayz if ArmA 2 and Arrowhead are both retail copys?

i could not play it yesterday, i think what i done wrong was this, a first, i brought combined ops from steam, downloaded them, took 2 days, turned out my PC could not play it ( should have checked that first really, my bad ) so i paid a guy i know to give my PC n upgrade, when i got the pc back, combined ops had been wiped clean, so i had to re download it from steam, after 3 days, operation arrowhead was at 37% abd Arma 2 only 8%, so i STOPED downloading arma 2 and continued with OA, i then found a disc copy of arma 2 in town ( took 30 minits to install =/ ) and it worked, bit laggy but it worked, then when OA finally downloaded i could not run it via steam, wich is a must, right? so i hace uninstalled them both and i really cant be botherd to wait another 4 or 5 days to re install them ( 24.99 wasted ) so if get OA off of ebay, will dayz work?

In a nutshell, yes. If you get the retail version of OA and then run a clean install with that and Arma 2 then you'll be good to go. Just make sure you've uninstalled everything correctly first so that you don't run into issues with CD-keys from the other versions.

thanks, yeah i think i may have issues with that as i dont know where some of the files have sneaked off to, if i have to wipe the whole thing clean i may do that lol

and if i use 2 retai copys, i will have no more use for STEAM> like, i wont need it to play Dayz? coz im sick of the sight of that shit n wanna delete it lol

I've never used Steam to play DayZ so it won't be an issue for you.
