DayZ not playable anymore

Before I go straight into the subject, let me just tell you a mini story:

So what this thread is really about? I'm not trying to create another rant thread or QQ about glitches and hackers. I'm just merely expressing my opinions about DayZ and how it has changed for me in the last few weeks.

When I first started playing DayZ I was so frustrated with all of the glitches that killed me over and over again. A month into the game and I still get screwed over by glitches. In fact there is almost no way of escaping them. I actually think that this is the buggiest game that I have ever played, and I have played A LOT of games. But NONE of them frustrates me more than hackers. Glitches I could deal with, I could just close my eye and tell myself that it is still an Alpha and just a simple mod. But these skiddies or so called hackers have simply ruined DayZ. Over the past 7 days I have been in about 20 different servers and in about 90% of them I have seen activities related to hacking.

Why did I bring up this mini story in the beginning of my topic? Well, that is just the perfect metaphore for how ruined this game has become. In those pictures you can see every single legitimate vehicle that has spawned in the server. Many of those were fully repaired and had a lot of items stored in it. Which means that someone has actually taken proper care of his vehicle and trusted his valuables in it. It means that someone has spent valuable time doing that. Then one good sunday morning a hacker comes along and decides to take all of that hard work and destroy it in a click of a mouse.

I think it's safe to say that DayZ is completely ruined and overrun by hackers or skiddies. I have seen 4 of my favorite YouTube video makers quit DayZ because of how ruined the game is. IF Rocket still has any real plans with the mod and/or the stand-alone game, I think it's the last chance to take some action or to simply shut down the mod.

On that note, I am also quitting this mod until this issue has been fixed or a stand-alone game has been released.

You can't stop hackers. there will be hackers in standalone, just A LOT less of them. Your bout the hundredth person to say this mod is unplayable.

I've been playing for about 2 weeks now and i've literally never even seen an accessible vehicle, until today. So i spent ages rebuilding and refueling and i finally got it running and i was so ecstatic. Happiest moment on DayZ to date. About 10 minutes into driving my first car i stopped about 1000m outside of cherno in the hills behind and a hacker spawns in front of me and he's just laughing in direct chat. He then precedes to empty an AKM mag into me and my car killing me and destroying my vehicle. Safe to say something should be done about this ASAP. I love DayZ and i forgive so much because it is only an Alpha but something needs to be done sooner rather than later.

I would even go a little further and say Dayz is about to die.

1. The item wipe that occurred recently thanks to the storage bug has brought the fact that we are playing an alpha back to the attention of many people.

2. Cheaters.

On my favorite server, which had like 30-40 ppl only 4 weeks ago, you barely see anyone online these days anymore. The main group canceled and went over to GW2 when their entire collected equipment and vehicles were destroyed first by a cheater then by the game bug. Yesterday we had another cheater logging in killing everyone and every vehicle again, but the worst thing is that he dropped this all-you-can-loot box that contains 50x everything. Now everyone and their mom runs around with complete equipment, and if you die, you just re-equip at the box. Survival game has been completely destroyed on this server by a single person.

We therefore tried some other servers but had to face reality: at least 50% of the players are cheaters in various degrees. Some do the extreme obvious cheating like invincibility, teleporting and so forth, other just log in, destroy everything they can including vehicles and proceed to the next server, and finally there are those silent cheaters, who secretly press a button once the die to get their entire equipment back.

So we currently have two options: play on a locked servers alone, or join a populated server where you get frequently killed by cheaters or worse. Both options are pointless. The logical consequence is that we will not play DayZ anymore until the situation changes noticeably.

Every popular game is rampant with hacking and cheating. Even when banned, a new GUID gets them back into the game again. Good admins make all the difference.

For the people waiting for the standalone because of hackers, do you really think the hackers are going to go away when the standalone comes out? Hell no. They'll do their best to keep hacking. The hackers aren't going to go away until Battleye finds away to stop it 100%. If you want to get away from the hackers for good, try this - don't play anymore. Otherwise, shut the hell up about hackers.

Don't expect them to "shut it down" just because you get too emotionally invested in your items/vehicles. Plenty of us still enjoy the game, hackers and all. Would it be better without hackers? Sure, but it doesn't suck because of them, respawn and try again. If you can't handle starting over, you're playing the wrong game to begin with.

I just can't express how wrong you are. Yes the door is there and I am leaving, I really don't need a nagging hacker-lover to show me the way. I am not EXPECTING it to be shut down just because I feel like it, but that would be a wise choise considering all the hackers. Why? Because of the obvious reason - it simply is eating the game inside out. You must a hacker or an idiot to not see that. "sure but it doesn't suck becase of them"... Oh, you HAVE to be one of the hackers am I right? This used to be a survival game. There are players running around invisible and invincible. That my friend is not a survival game. It's like ordering a burger from a fast food restaurant but getting a salad with a photograph of a burger. Clearly you have missed the point of this whole thread.
