Use Six Updater after installing and launching both Arma2 and expansion.

Once in Six Updater, select the DayZ mod and wait for server list to generate.

Choose server with good ping (3 green bars) and click join.

Wait between 60 seconds and 4 minutes for loading to finish.

If you're using the Steam version, it's simple.

If you've got retail (like me), it's a clusterfuck of frustration - for me anyways.

You type that into command line, which you open up with run and type in cmd. I have the steam version so I don't know how to help you out, but that's what AndreasB is telling you.

Move cursor to bottom of screen. Press start button. If you have win7 type cmd into search field, then press enter.

Modify the line I gave you with your corresponding locations, and paste into black window that appeared. Press enter

Figure out where your arma2 installation is.

Figure out where your arma2 OA installation is.

If its non steam version its most likely something like c:\program files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\Arma 2\

If its steam then its c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\

i have been sitin here at my computer for 14 hours trying to find a simple way to play this fucking game, EVERY video i watch or thing i read gets way too technical at some point, dont get me wrong i didnt think it would be easy, but i didnt expect it to be this hard, i would uninstall both games and reinstall them to start again but it took me 4 fucking days to download them. i CANT run OA via steam, i get the same error message " Data file too short " every server i join says " no entry" "CAsign2"" you were kicked from the server "" install additional acceptance keys".....i fucking give up, i just cant do this no more fuck it

Ok, I want you to go to steam, right click ArmA2OA, and choose properties or such..

Then press "Local Files" and press "Verify integrity of game cache".

Do that, then tell me what happened when its finished.

If you are getting errors with CD keys then it's becasue you need to install DayZ and the ARMA Beta patch using dayZ commander, then simply run ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 OA once each to get your keys to register.

yes installed many beta patches, as soon as it finieshed i extractred the files using some file extractor programms

When you press OK it should start to download those two files. WHen its done I want you to try to start ArmA2, and tell me what happens
