Tents - Backpacks - items in backpacks?

So according to the DayZ wiki, tents can hold up to 5 backpacks.

But...can you have a backpack full of stuff and then put it in the tent, and the items will stay in the backpack?

I know tents are glitchy and everything, but assuming it DOESN'T glitch, is this the case?
