I heard its a nice place to go for scenery. Lets say me and a friend wanted to set up base. Would that be a good area, or no?

It depends do you like eveyone finding your base well everyone knows that a base is there but on the plus side its so far away from the sniping fests in cherno and elektro no one ever bothers to go there. So yes a good place I suggest finding a nice mountain to hide behind up there.

I've ran into so many camps at Podeba. I would rather find a nice secluded spot near the middle of the map because everyone searches the edges of the map nowadays.

That whole Pobeda area from basically north of Devils Castle over to Olsha is prime tent city area. Everyone thinks their camps are safe and out of the way there. But then people like myself, with basic common sense and a "where would I initially think to put a tent" train of thought, find all of them and take their stuff. I suggest not putting tents in that area if you want to keep the stuff for very long. If you do decide to, make sure you can hide all of it well.

Ahhh Pobeda damn, first bandit camp i ever stumbled across was there, where i first killed a bandit and stole his M249 and GPS... the dayz before all the hacking and duping... such blissful.. almost peaceful times!
