grunowben@gmail.com 0 Posted August 25, 2012 Quite simply, I think offset time servers should be removed. Why?Because some of my best memories of DayZ are from back in 1.5.8, when there were no ANZ offset time servers. If you wanted to play, you had to put up with night - and we all did. Getting shot at, and hastily putting out the flare I was carrying. Shooting a bandit in the head because he was silly enough to walk into the middle of a flare. My group collectively shitting ourselves when a flare got dropped next to us (turned out someone hit 'f' too many times).Perhaps I'm just wanting to relive my first days of DayZ, but I think night is much more immersive. Yatagan 62 Posted August 25, 2012 I personally want servers to not lie about their time, no matter that time. I'm getting annoyed as hell for looking up 'daytime' servers in DayZCommander only to repeatedly join ones that are the middle of the night, when it was 2:04pm. If they lie about that they need to be taken down. Or have it hardcoded. (Standalone?)
GexAlmighty 54 Posted August 25, 2012 (edited) Only if all nights are moonlit.sorry but non moonlit nights are bullshit at the moment, you cant see fences at all even when you are walking into them and there is no where for fresh spawns to go. you also cant attack at all if you are out of flares or have none because your only light source is equiped as a "weapon".maybe...MAYBE i would be ok with the pitch black nights if the flashlight gets fixed. if i can job with it without flailing like a retard and hold it with my pistol, i would be happy to keep pitch black nights. However your suggestion itself will not work. because there are people that work all day for a living that may happen to want to play dayz at day time when they get home at 7pm. otherwise it would JUST be night time. This is important to remember because a vast amount of the dayz community are 24+ Edited August 25, 2012 by GexAlmighty
