Quad weirdness

So I found a quad and was able to get it going by just adding a tire. I thought I'd need a toolbox to put it on but apparently not. It seems to run fine but the engine icon is red and it seems to get really terrible mileage. It also generates a lot of smoke. Im thinking this is because the engine needs fixing. Anyone who's used the quad, is it normally a big fuel guzzler? And since I was able to fix the tire without tools might I also be able to fix the engine with just engine parts or something?

I'm guessing I need a toolbox for that but they seem to be super rare. Anyone who has a toolbox (and didn't find it on another player) where did you come across yours? I figure factories would be the obvious place but I'm wondering if they spawn in warehouses maybe too.

The quad is fun and it can go pretty much anywhere. They tend to roll over easily though.. It got stuck on its side once and you really should be able to push something like a quad right side up by yourself but not according to the arma 2 engine I guess.
