Playing with friends without steam version of Arma 2

Recommended Posts

I recently bought Arma 2 combined operations and downloaded DayZ. I bought the game off of steam. My friend bought his copy a long while back so he never bought the steam version and just bought it from the website, but he also has downloaded DayZ and he is able to play. But for some strange reason, when we are trying to play in the same servers, 9/10 servers that show up for me, do not show up for him and vise-versa. Occasionally a server that we can both see shows up and we play on that. But it is incredibly challenging and frustrating to find a server, so i would just like to know if there is a way to fix this issue, or if there even is a fix for it. And sorry if this isnt in the correct forum thread :D

Use the ingame browser when looking for servers. Six Launcher and DayZCommander are both BS.

Im not all too familiar with six launcher and stuff like that, but how would one go about launching the game without six launcher and without steam?

You don't need Steam. You can simply launch the game through SixLauncher or DayZCommander and then when you are ingame go bacl to the main menu and use the ingame browser.
