Arma 2 - 10 minute launch, 20 mins to connect to a server.

This is not a DayZ issue as I have problems with this in standard A2 and OA but applies when trying to log into a DayZ server also

it takes literally half an hour, maybe more to go from launching the game to getting in world, sometimes even more when it hangs at loading or character creation.

I'm aware that this bug is relatively small as I've only seen very few people complain about it.

For example after clicking launch (bought through steam) I've seen others go straight to the menu, mine does not. It spends 5 minites going through the various Tick Boxes then spends 5 minites loading the main menu. For loading onto a server add nauseam + time.

But!

When I get into game, it runs fine at a constant rate of around 40fps and I can log out of the server and into another in a matter of seconds rather than hours

Watching it's memory usage in windows task manager it creeps up at a few hundred k at a time for a period of minites before something happens, sometimes at slower speeds, sometimes it remains motionless even when set at realtime priority

This is confusing as This is a fresh install of windows 7 64 bit, (3 days) I have steam + Arma's + DayZ all fully up to date on an otherwise empty SSD drive, I5 2500k @3.3ghz, 560Ti and 8gb 1300mhz RAM and all unessesary background applications closed and all graphics set to minimum.

Can someone tell me why its taking so long to load please and a possible fix of there is one.
