Map Markers

Ok, I know that on some servers, map markers (the ones where you double-click and a large circle with an "x" through it appears) are "shared" (which, quite frankly, I think is fucking retarded...but whatever...that's not the point here). Everyone can see them if they have access to a map. But what I'm wondering is if the other type of map marker (the one where you hold shift and click and two concentric circles appear...I've heard some call it a "distance marker") is "shared". Can everyone else see this type of marker, or just you?

As far as I've been able to tell, no. But I've not done any kind of extensive testing.

Just you, I play with friends and yeah you can only see you're own markers.

The shift-click places a waypoint for you to see in-game. Other players can't see it.

With regards to the "retarded" (I fucking hate that word) map markers, it's something left over from Arma so that teams could communicate positions and will be removed in the future.
