brettuk 1 Posted August 24, 2012 Hey, I have a fairly decent computer. Better than most computers out there. Heres my specs: CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640 processor 3.00 GHZRAM: 8GB Ram Although running 32bit OS (Technically I'm limited to 3.4gb)GFX CARD: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 460Sound Card: NVIDIA HIGH DEFINITION AUDIOOS: Windows Vista - 32bitInternet Connection: http://www.speedtest.net/result/2113057422.pngI purchased Dayz yesturday and I love it, the only thing which really puts me off is the amount of Lagg which I recieve. In first person mode it's absolutely terrible, some times my FPS is ok and sometimes it isn't. I'm not sure what my FPS exactly is but it isn't smooth at all. This is exactly why I hate PC Gaming, You need the best computer to play any game. I spent around £500 on this computer :/ Anyone have any tips on how to make it smooth? I literally have every other program turned off while playing, I use game booster to increase my FPS also.Anyone have any recommended settings? I set every to Very Low and it's still laggy. Sometimes it's ok on High. All help is appreciated.
Gibbo3771 1 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) I run an i5 2500 with a gtx560ti and 16gb of ram, same problem. Its just badly optimized and the Arma engine is terrible.I just play mine on lowest settings, looks fine....i still get 30 fps in cities tho which is terrible tbh. Adolan 6 Posted August 24, 2012 You probably would like to change your OS to 64bit, 'cause you can only use 3.4GB of RAM on 32bit OS.
silas@mellor.dk 1 Posted August 24, 2012 Don't bother with gamebooster. Check out this guide for starters. There are a load of config tweaks you can make also, but have these a go and let us know how you get on:http://www.dayzpvp.com/ultimate-dayz-graphics-settings-and-tweaks-guide/Also, what resolution are you playing at? While your computer isn't absolute junk it's not exactly state of the art either, and ARMA is an unbelievable resource hog... Anyways, stepping resolution down a notch or two may give you a boost. Pfft. I'm on a 2500K, GTX 570 and 4GB and I'm getting rock solid 60fps with 1680*1050, all set to Very High except antialiasing and postprocessing which is disabled.Your computers are just full of crap or you're getting memory bottlenecks with 32bit operating systems.
