CD key in use error - but only on one server?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I tried to log into a server tonight with some friends but was met with the "cd key in use" error. Whats strange is that I was on the server earlier tonight, then switched to another server (we were looking for vehicle parts). I then tried to switch back to the original server and was met with the "cd key in use" error. I tried logging into other servers (tried 4-5 different servers) and was able to load in fine, but I'm still getting the error on that one server. I know there are a few threads on this topic, but I couldn't see anything about this behavior specifically.

Has anyone had this happen to them? any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe i was banned on that server on accident? I'm at a loss here.

Thanks.

Banned = banned, kicked = kicked and an error is an error. CD Key in use means someone, somewhere was activly playing your copy of Arma 2. I suggest, if you truly 'own' the game to report this to Battleye before the person does something stupid and get the key banned.

May be something simple like a friend/family having your Steam account/password and playing while you try and get Battleye to verify the key? (I say because I play Steam's version of Arma II but do not play through Steam/not logged in while playing)

It might be a, sorry about the pun, zombie connection. Meaning the server still thinks you're logged in. Once the server reboots or restarts, you should be good. This is a wild guess on my part though.
