Item Slots in Vehicles

Regarding item slots in vehicles, the motorbike, which we have is filled with 5 wheels as it has 5 item slots, yet takes up 30 item slots in a backpack? is this a glitch, or legit? thanks.

I read somewhere that items which need more slots in backpacks (tents, jerry cans) need only one slot in the vehicle gear.

So you could pack 5 jerry cans in your bike.

No guarantee on that info though.

Also, this applies not for weapons since they have seperate slots.
