On a more serious note I understand your frustration but you could have avoided the whole mess by reading the section on bugs, vehicles are completely broken in the newest patch. They will disappear on restart so why even bother finding a chopper knowing this will happen (it happened to me before I knew of the problem, found a chopper and saved it in a safe location, then server restart and it was gone). That is probably how you found three choppers in the first place, no one else wants to waste time on something that will be gone very quickly.

As far as hackers, seriously wait for the standalone to make a final judgement. Besides minor tweaks hackers are going to continue on the mod, but the standalone may be able to eliminate a great deal of the hacking problem. I know this is the broken record response but it is not a polished product, it is an alpha.

I get your frustration, asking a question in the forums is sometimes an exercise in internet futility. I am not completely without sin since I started out with the common responses, but I was largely joking. Patch 1.7.2.5 has a huge problem with vehicles and tents (in case you did not know tents are hit and miss, some servers they will disappear never to be seen again and on others they will reappear with the original gear that was saved). Here is a link to one of the posts that talks about vehicle bugs in this latest patch http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/15439-vehicles-disappeared-us2/, but like I said I have lost a couple of vehicles and tents filled with legitimate rare gear that was built up over a month. I even lost a Huey, which sucked but I already knew it would have eventually resulted in a hack kill, admin abuse, or a legitimate sniper kill so no big problem. Just remember the game is still in testing, so hopefully these huge bugs that are very annoying are being analyzed so they can be effectively removed in the stand alone.

I feel your pain OP. We (my squad and i) recently won a great victory against a clan we have been battling for a few weeks. We confirmed killed 6 members before moving in on their camp in the northern most part of the map. One of them combat logged, and in the carnage that followed, i forgot. We jumped in their heli and made for the sky. It was glorious for about 10 minutes. Parked it at base camp. saved it a few times and logged off dayz to do some more flight training on vanilla arma. Server restarts while were offline and its gone :(. Having no other means of transport we ran all the way back there (16000 meters) only to find that the combat logger had moved it :( gutted. Oh well we blew it out of the sky a few days later. That was rewarding enough :)

I'd loved to have been there mate, but our chopper experiences are short lived. even being able to battle with a rival clan without the chopper knowing that it works if you did manage to steal it and save it then fair do's. Thats the way the game should be but atm its broken, but i'll take it on the chin. Had i've been aware of the bug I wouldnt have went through the trouble the post descrivbed or even the post itself. :P Im testing an alpha i fully understand that so i decided to share my experience so that it can be fixed and authentisised to a working game in future :)
