Inventory lost between sessions

Whenever I stop playing (disconnect) and then connect again (at a varied time gap) my inventory is gone. I still have my primary and secondary weapon, backpack and tool-belt. However all of my "loose" items are gone. At the moment I am storing all of my items in my back-pack in order to keep them. This happens on every character I have created.
